A bronze plate brooch in the form of an advancing gladiator of murmillo type, the bulbous helmet covering the face, short tunic to knees and right hand holding sword across chest, standing on a square base; pin and catch to the reverse. Cf. Heynowski, R. Bestimmungsbuch Archaeologie: Fibeln, Munich, 2012, item 3.27.5 for type. 6.56 grams, 42mm (1 1/2").
