3rd-4th century AD. A schist frieze fragment with two robed figures standing beside a wall of irregular stone blocks(?), quadrant aperture at chest-height; mounted on a custom-made stand. See Jongeward, D. Buddhist Art of Gandhara in the Ashmolean Museum, Oxford, 2018. 34.5 kg total, 47cm with stand (18 1/2"). Ex North London gentleman; formerly in a private collection formed between 1990 and 2000.
