2nd-3rd century AD. A carved schist statue of Buddha sitting cross-legged, wearing a loose garment hanging in swags from the neck and shoulders, hands placed in the lap, wavy hair with ushnisha, long lobed ears; mounted on a custom-made stand. 16.5 kg, 42.5cm including stand (17 3/4").
