4th-7th century AD. A bronze elongated seal stamp with biconvex body shape, the flat lower part decorated with a Latin cross inside a Greek one, the rim all ornamented around with a stylised laurel crown; accompanied by a museum-quality impression. 12 grams, 30mm (1 1/4"). Property of a North West London gallery; formerly in a 1980s collection. Such stamp seals were used in a higher volume, even institutional use, they come in a wide variety of handles, shapes and sizes.
