A carved limestone macehead, wide socket with raised median outerband, lateral anthropomorphic projection with drilled details, recessed eyes, tubular nose, mouth with four conjoining piercings, drilled through below the chin; supplied with a custom-made display stand. For a similar example see Sotheby's Pre Columbian Art, New York, 1992, lot 264. 882 grams total, 11cm including stand (4 1/4"). Property of a Brussels gentleman; previously in a New Orleans, USA, collection, since the 1980s.
