Late 3rd-2nd millennium BC. A mixed group of ten bronze seal matrices with various shapes and designs including nine accompanied by typed and signed notes by the late W.G. Lambert, Professor of Assyriology at the University of Birmingham, 1970-1993, which state: (U-497) 'Stamp Seal of Bronze, 12 x 12 x 18mm. This has a round flat face and a back which rises to a stalk handle with suspension loop on top. The design, which is achieved with raised lines, consists of a line dividing the circle into two rough halves, and a line at 90° dividing the one half into quarters. This comes from west central Asia and dates to c. 2100-1800 B.C. The edges are somewhat worn, but otherwise the piece is in good condition.'; (U-248) 'Stamp Seal of Bronze, 16 x 15 x 17mm. This has a round flat face and convex back, on which is mounted a stalk handle ending in a pierced loop. The design, achieved in raised lines, consists of a circle with three semicircles based on it around the edge. This comes from west central Asia and dates to c. 2100-1800 B.C. It is generally in good condition and is a nice example of its kind.'; (T-426) 'Stamp Seal of Bronze, 23 x 13.5 x 22mm. This has a diamond-shaped face, flat, and a back which rises to a stalk handle, surmounted by a pierce loop, now broken. The design on the face is compartmented, consists of two arrow-head shapes which join in the middle, with a line from the edge intruding into the middle spaces left. This comes from west central Asia and dates to c. 2300-2000 B.C. The handle is broken and the outer rim is worn down, but the metal appears to be in good condition.'; (T-9) 'Stamp Seal of Bronze, 17 x 19 x 21mm. This has a flat oval face and a flat back, with stalk handle ending in a suspension loop on top. The design consists of four semi-circles based on the rim, two joined by a straight line. this comes from west central Asia and dates to c. 2100-1700 B.C. The loop is broken, otherwise the piece is in fair condition.'; (T-442) 'Stamp Seal of Bronze, 15 x 15 x 24mm. This has a round flat face, and convex back which rises to a stalk handle surmounted by a loop. the design on the face consists of a central dot surrounded by four crescents based on the outer rim. This comes from west central Asia and dates to c. 2200-1800 B.C. There is incrustation on the surface, which could be removed, and the loop is worn, but otherwise the piece is in good condition.': (T-748) 'Stamp Seal of Bronze, 24 x 22 x 29mm. This has a round flat face, and sides that rise steeply to an oval pierced handle. The design on the face is linear, with raised lines, apparently abstract. This comes from west central Asia and dates to c. 2200-1800 b.C. The back is generally in very good condition, but the face is somewhat worn down, especially round the edge. The metal is in good condition.'; (U-314) 'Stamp Seal of Bronze, 16 x 16 x 8mm. This has a round, flat face, and a back which rises to a pierced handle. The design consists of three lines based on the rim. This comes from west central Asia and dates to c. 2100-1800 B.C. It is heavily encrusted and the handle is worn down, but the design is still clear.';(U-321) 'Stamp Seal of Bronze, 10 x 9.5 x 17mm. This has a flat, round, compartmented face, and steep sides ending in a pierced loop. the design on the face consists of three semi-circles placed on the outer rim. This comes from west central Asia and dates to c. 2100-1800 B.C. There is some wear to the face, but it is in fair condition.'; (U-316) 'Stamp Seal of Bronze, 11 x 11.5 x 21mm. This has a round flat face and a convex back supporting a tall stalk handle with suspension loop. The design consists of two concentric circles, the outer one being the rim. This comes from west central Asia and dates to c. 2100-1800 B.C. The outer rim is worn and chipped, otherwise it is in good condition.' 64 grams total, 17-25mm (3/4-1").
