Early 3rd millennium BC. A carved limestone cylinder seal, on the right a winged hero behind a big donkey, holding it by the neck; on the left a fence segment, probably symbolising a fold; in front of the donkey a long water trough, between the donkey's throat and the trough an unspecified figure; on the right of the hero's head a v-shaped symbol; accompanied by a museum-quality impression. 19.32 grams, 33mm (1 3/8"). From a private collection of seals and amulets, the property of a Canadian gentleman living in London; from his father's collection formed in the late 1960s to 1980s. [No Reserve]
