A RARE STAINED IVORY NETSUKE OF A BAT ON A GONG Unsigned Japan, probably Osaka, mid-19th century, Edo period (1615-1868) The ivory stained in a deep-red and depicting a bat clasping on the edge of a bronze gong. The minutely carved rope to which the gong is attached coils around forming the natural himotoshi. LENGTH 4.1 cm Condition: Very good condition with minor wear to staining. Provenance: British collection.
