A rare Caughley tea bowl in the 'Bright Landscapes I' pattern circa 1788-93 painted in bright blue with three exterior panels of ruins between mazarine border to the exterior, the interior with blue and gilt inner border and further internally painted with country manor in rural setting, 8.2cm diameter (gilded chip) Notes: Of the four different bright landscapes designs produced at Caughley, this is the richest, combining gilding with a wide mazarine blue border surrounding different scens of abbeys, castles and houses, derived from original engravings by Paul Sandby (1731-1809).
