The artistic career of Realfonso has only recently been explored. What is impressive in Realfonso's work is the attention he pays to the reproduction of the naturalness of the representation, which he achieves through careful study of light and the juxtaposition of light and dark. These solutions can be seen as parallels to the experiences of Francesco Solimena and, in various respects, as precursors of the artistic expression of Gaspare Traversi and the Spaniard Luis Meléndez.
