A Qajar calligraphic pottery tile, Iran, 19th century, of rectangular form, on cobalt-blue ground, the inscription in white nasta'liq script reading bismillah al-rahman al-rahim nasr min Allah wa fath qarib (In the name of God, the Beneficent, the Merciful, help from God and victory near at hand), with floral rosettes in the upper corners, with yellow and turquoise-blue borders, upper left hand side corner restored, 31.9 x 42.2cm.
