A large khatam work mirror, Iran, late 19th century, of rectangular form, the frame around the mirror raised to central section, decorated with fine mosaic work, calligraphic panels of nasta'liq inlaid with bone to sides, top and bottom, alternating with portraits of youths, bone stars and panels of mosaic work, the reverse similar but with central lobed cartouche with spandrels on a ground of mosaic work, 57.5 x 42cm.
