The richly populated square with the equestrian statue of Bartolomeo Colleoni in the foreground, behind it the famous church Santi Giovanni e Paolo. The splendid light-coloured façade of the early Venetian Renaissance in the background belongs to the Scuola Grande di San Rocco. To the left of the square is the Canal Grande, which is navigated by gondolas and to which steps lead down. On the left side of the picture, various houses with lowered awnings can be seen, as protection against the strong sunlight.
