A BAMBOO FIGURE OF A LUOHAN AND BUDDHIST LION, QING China, 1644-1912. The immortal finely carved with a long mustache and thick eyebrows, wearing long flowing robes and holding a ruyi scepter in one hand, seated cross-legged beside a Buddhist lion with a long, finely incised mane looking up towards him. The bamboo naturally patinated to a reddish-brown tone. Provenance: From an old French private collection. Condition: Good condition with old wear, some minor losses and traces of use.
