France, circa 1913, (attributed to) RENÉ LALIQUE Brass and copper. Blue glass and enamel. Enamel with some minor nicks. Central element: circa 5 x 5.1 cm, chain: length circa 54.5 cm. René Lalique (1860-1945) is famous for his handcrafted glass work which is sought after worldwide. What is less known is that he started his professional career as a draftsman and designer for jewellery. It was only after 1911 that he turned attention exclusively to glass. This necklace ''Femme dans les fleurs'' (model no. 1625) is a beautiful combination of both of these skills to create an extraordinary piece of glass and enamel jewellery.
