A collection of two blue glass amulets in Egyptian style; a glass green ring; two fragments of transparent blueish green glass with incised figures, and two yellow glass medallions with the head of Medusa. See Ancient Egyptian Glass and Faience, Part III; Christie's, London, 8 December 1993, lot 12. 9.4 grams total, 12-24mm (1/2 -1"). Property of a European gentleman living in London; formerly from an old private collection formed in the early 1980s. Roman glass objects have been recovered across the Roman Empire in domestic, industrial and funerary contexts. Primarily glass used for the production of vessels, although it has also been found to be used in mosaics, windows, mirrors, jewellery and games. [7, No Reserve]
