3rd millennium BC. A bronze discoid openwork stamp seal with crouching monkey, raised tail, enclosed within a plain border; handle to the reverse formed of two crossing rods. 70 grams, 57mm (2 1/4"). The Signo collection, the property of a West London businessman, formed in the late 1980s-early 1990s; collection number Y-283, academically researched and catalogued by the late Professor Lambert in the early 1990s.
