1125-1135 AD. BMC vx; class 15. Obv: facing bust and sceptre with [ ]RICVS legend. Rev: quadrilateral over cross with [ ]ARD:O[N: ] partial legend for an uncertain moneyer and mint. S. 1276; N. 871. See Portable Antiquities Scheme, reference KENT-2BCC07 (this coin"). 0.54 grams. . Found Romney Marsh, Kent area, 2000s. The PAS entry suggests possibly a coin of Winchester mint by a moneyer Æthelweard based upon a possible die link with EMC 1020.1577, however this is uncertain; there are several other mints that include moneyer names ending -ARD and further research may be able to assign this coin.
