普贤，是印度梵语意译，又译为“遍吉”。《大日经疏》记载：“普，是遍一切处；贤，是最妙善义。在大乘佛教中，普贤又与观音、文殊、地藏合称四大菩萨。 此尊普贤菩萨头戴精美宝冠，面宽额丰颐，眉似弯月，双目垂俯，相容宁谧肃穆，显得睿智而慈和。身着菩萨璎珞装。披帛顺肩绕臂而出，尾端飘垂于体侧。舒坐于象背之上。其坐骑为“六牙白象”，象征菩萨修行的“六度”，大象头部转向左方，与普贤菩萨相呼应，身躯强壮，也彰显著普贤菩萨的尊贵地位。神兽下承单层莲花宝座。此像铜质精炼，造型端庄，做工精细，尤其在普贤菩萨面部神态的塑造上表现得极为精妙，整体给人庄严神圣而又慈祥亲切的宗教美感，反映出匠师极高的艺术水准，品相完好，是一尊极为难得的明代早期汉地造像精品。
