A George III fusee dial wall timepiece Richard Lawson, London, late 18th century The four pillar single fusee movement with verge escapement regulated by short bob pendulum and tapered plates, the 12 inch circular silvered brass Roman numeral dial signed Richard Lawson, LONDON to centre and with Arabic five minutes to outer track, withy blued steel spade hands set behind hinged cast ogee-profile convex glazed bezel, the case with plain mahogany surround fronting simple dovetail jointed oak box incorporating door to right hand side, diameter 34cm (13.5ins). Richard Lawson is recorded in Baillie, G.H. Watchmakers & Clockmakers of the World as working in London 1778-1804.
