Barbedienne/à Paris. It surmounts a lyre adorned with eagle heads, laurel branches and garlands of fruit. The whole is inscribed in a glass case, the border with mouldings of raise-hearts or pearls, the uprights adorned with goat's heads and leafy consoles topped with Turkish-style vases. At the top is a broad shield framed by garlands of foliage and flowers. At the base is a rectangular medallion surrounded by pearls decorated with a group of putti that are found around the bobèches of the two torches. It rests on four spinning tops.
