Comment: With a very characteristic case shape, the reference 5100 derives its design from a similar, though smaller, reference, the 2554 from the 1950s, also known as the "manta ray" model. Produced in a limited edition, the reference 5100 was launched in 2000 to celebrate the new millennium. The 5100 is Patek Philippe's first model with a ten-day power reserve. Produced in a limited edition, this watch can never be made identical, as the tools used in its construction have since been replaced. The prestigious Geneva-based manufacturer has produced a total of 3,000 pieces of reference 5100, including 1,500 in yellow gold, 750 in pink gold, 450 in white gold and only 300 in platinum, the latter with an impeccable Top Wesselton diamond set between the lugs at 6 o'clock. A mythical timepiece for a Patek Philippe enthusiast.
