Reference 5050 was launched in 1993 and was in production for nine years. The simple and clean opaline-white dial contrasts with an unconventional retrograde date in the centre, a rare feature on any other Patek Philippe models. The present example has of the rarest configuration with its Roman numeral dial and pink gold case with complete accessories. It was believed that less than half of the production was fitted with a Roman numeral dial. Reference 5050 is a highly sought-after classic, and the present watch is preserved in very fine and honest condition considering its age.
