A LARGE DOUCAI ENAMELED FIGURAL DISHKangxi
The large flat central well displaying an elaborate figural tableau of recluse scholars and attendants on boats within a mountainous lake of bridges, pavilions and distant pagodas, the surrounding deep cavetto covered in flowers and trees separated by bands of repeating geometric patterns; the unadorned underside raised on a circular foot.
15 3/4in (40cm) diameter注脚Doucai porcelains with decoration this elaborate from the Kangxi period appear to be rather rare. A pair of octagonal jardinieres originally from the collection of the Cleveland Museum were offered at Christies in New York as lot 358 in their sale of 21 September 2000.
