A Chinese rose mandarin vase with cover, China, Canton, 19th century.
Origin: China, 19th century, late Qing dynasty, most probably Guangxu (1875-1908) period.
Vase applied with two lion handles to the neck and two gilt kui dragons to the shoulder, body decorated with figural scenes - mandarins framed within boarders of compositions of flowers, birds, butterflies. Cover with flowers on the white ground, finial in shape of lion.
Conditions report: wear to gold layer on decorations, Gilt elements with worn gold layer, ca. 4 cm long hairline on body and small chip in other place (check pictures), chip to the lion on cover. Not UV tested.
Dimensions: height with cover - 28,3 cm, without – 23,5 cm, diameter 11,5 cm.
