A Russian machine guns trooper’s kindjal dagger, Kuban Cossacks Army. Russia, before 1917.
Origin: Russian Empire, 1914-1917.
Last regulation hanger in the Russian Tsarist army. Produced in years 1914-1917 only. Used for lower ranks machine gun troops from 1914, also replaced M1907 kindjals during WW1. Very rare model made for Kuban Cossack Army, stamped on the blade in Cyrillic: Куб.В.П.К. (Kuban Army Machine Guns Squad). Very rare!
Straight blade of steel, double edged, with centrical tip, with double central fuller both sides. Blade stamped: Куб.В.П.К. and 5.
Hilt grips made of hard wood, fixed with two steel rivets to the tang. A.A. burned on grip plate. Steel mount attached to the hilt with lower rivet.
Scabbard made of wood, covered with dark leather, with two steel mounts.
Dimensions: total length in scabbard – 59,8 cm, without – 56,1 cm, blade's length - 52 cm, blade's width - 38 mm.
Condition report: blade with minimal pitting and corrosion. Grip plates with edges of pommel broken, some dents and scratches. Damages to the leather on scabbard. Steel mounts on scabbard and hilt with light corrosion, and dents.
