A famille verte charger with a hunting scene, Kangxi period, ca. 1700, China, A fine large plate decorated with hunters on horseback, shooting birds and hunting for rabbits. The upper part of the pate showing three figures on a balcony. The back marked with a Kangxi mark (conch shell) and of the period.
Provenance: the property of an old family from Wassenaar. D 36 cm, Good condition. The edge seems to have been ground down slightly (probably to remove rim fritting). Wear of the glaze and gilding but no cracks or hairlines and no restoration(apart from the slightly ground edge of the plate).
