JAPON, Fours Nagamura, fabrique de Soma Fin Epoque EDO (1603 1868)
Chawan (tea bowl) of naka tsutsu shape in green dented enamelled stoneware, with finger marks, decorated in slight relief with three galloping horses enamelled in white, spirals and a frieze of Greek incised on the rim.
Kaneshige potter's stamp.
Diam. 10.7 cm.
This decoration was created by Kano Naonabu around 1670, the horse is the emblem of the prince of Soma.
