A fine Satsuma incense burner Meiji era (1868-1912), circa 1900 Globular, set on tripod feet and painted in colored enamels and gilt with three shaped panels containing a landscape with a fishing village and distant sailing vessels, a pair of birds in blossoming cherry trees, and children playing games associated with the New Year celebrations, the surrounding areas and pierced cover painted with chrysanthemum blossoms and the feet with floral scroll, the finial formed as a seated shishi with a raised paw, signed on the underside in gilt Yabu Meizan 4 1/4in (10.7cm) high
