A Japanese bronze archaistic vase
Modelled after a Chinese archaic original, the vase is cast with two loose ring taotie handles to the shoulder. The body is decorated with a stiff leaf band at the neck and lower body, kui dragons on a leiwen ground to the shoulder, and a taotie band at the body. The base with a mark in seal script reading ‘Eisei do saku’.
