A North Italian group of bronze figures, St Martin on horseback with a beggar and dog, 17th century The bronze figurines with finely engraved and chased details. Beautiful, blackish-brown age patina. St Martin is depicted on horseback, cutting his cloak in two with his sword. In the foreground, the beggar with walking stick, calabash draped across him, his dog beside him. On a rectangular pedestal of ebonised wood. A series of delicately painted, coloured tableaux on all four sides. Height of the figurines 4.5 to 17 cm, dimensions of the pedestal 12 x 17 x 15 cm, total height 29 cm. Condition: II Condition Report: Overall in beautiful condition, the sword blade and reins are replacements. The edges of the pedestal knocked, the images darkened, some parts in need of cleaning. Davor der Bettler mit Stock und umgehängter Kalebasse, daneben ein sitzender Hund. Auf rechteckigem Sockel aus ebonisiertem Holz. Umlaufend auf allen vier Seiten fein gemalte farbige Bildszenen. Höhe der Figurinen 4,5 bis 17 cm, Maße des Sockels 12 x 17 x 15 cm, Gesamthöhe 29 cm. Zustand: II Condition Report: Schöner Gesamtzustand, Schwertklinge und Zügel ergänzt.
