A fine Italian painted baroque casket, Venice, 17th century The free-standing, rectangular wooden body with delicate lacquer and gold painting, set with faceted plaques of rock crystal. The casket on a straight frame with slightly hollow fullers and a row of half-columns, framing the crystal plaques. A slightly overhanging, tiered cornice at the top. Upon which the hinged, raised lid under glass in the same style. The interior also decorated with fine black and gold lacquer painting. Old lock, key and bands in iron. Dimensions 15 x 21.5 x 15.5 cm.A similar casket is illustrated in "TRA/E - Teche, pissidi, cofani, e forziere dall'Alto Medioevo al Barocco", published by Pietro Lorenzelli and Alberto Veca, Galleria Lorenzelli, Bergamo, 1984/1985. The gilding rubbed in places. Unusual casket in exquisite condition, with a fine patina. Condition: II + Feine bemalte Barock-Kassette, Italien/Venedig, 17. Jhdt. Frei stellbarer, rechteckiger Holzkorpus mit feiner Lack- und Goldmalerei sowie facettierten Bergkristallplatten. Das Kästchen auf gerader, leicht hohl gekehlter Zarge mit umlaufenden Halbsäulen, welche die Kristallplatten rahmen. Abschließender leicht überkragender, getreppter Kranz. Darauf das scharniergelagerte und erhabene Deckeldach in gleicher Weise verglast. Innen ebenfalls mit feiner Schwarz- und Goldlackmalerei dekoriert. Altes Schloss, Schlüssel und Bänder in Eisen. Maße 15 x 21,5 x 15,5 cm. Ein ähnliches Kästchen ist abgebildet in "TRA/E - Teche, pissidi, cofani, e forziere dall'Alto Medioevo al Barocco", herausgegeben von Pietro Lorenzelli und Alberto Veca, Galleria Lorenzelli, Bergamo, 1984/1985.
