"The Judgement of Paris", probably Francesco Trevisani (1656 - 1746) Attributed to Francesco Trevisani (1656 in Capodistria – 1746 in Rome), the oil painting on canvas representing "The Judgement of Paris". The shepherd-prince Paris was chosen to settle the quarrel of which of the three goddesses Hera, Athena and Aphrodite was the fairest. In the foreground on the left, Hera is shown from behind, with a peacock, as she stretches her hand towards Paris. To the left of Paris, in helmet and sandals, stands Athena, while Aphrodite can be seen to his right as he presents her with the golden "Apple of Discord", the symbol of her victory. Links im Vordergrund ist Hera als Rückenfigur mit Pfau dargestellt, die ihre Hand nach Paris ausstreckt. Links neben Paris mit Helm und Sandalen steht Athene und rechts neben Paris ist Aphrodite zu sehen, die soeben den goldenen „Zankapfel“ als Zeichen ihres Sieges überreicht bekommt.
