款识：“万泉”（把下款）说明：此壶为南瓜壶式，圆形盖嵌入壶体，盖钮较大，是为南瓜之瓜蒂；壶体作瓜棱形，并装饰有南瓜枝叶藤蔓，栩栩如生。此壶仿生于瓜，蕴润泽之妙，壶面装饰繁简有度，造型古朴，饱满大气，身心安泰。蒋德林，字万泉，江苏省宜兴蜀山人，生卒不详。清代道光同治年间著名陶人。光绪《宜兴荆溪县新志》记载，其人“百艺极精，凡茗壶、花盆、杯盘及一切书案陈设器具，设色工致，为一时之冠。”顾景舟主编《宜兴紫砂珍赏》曾著录万泉传器三持。
