设色纸本 镜片说明：通草画俗称草雕，是指绘制在通草片上的水彩画。19世纪兴起于广州，主要用于出口，由于采用西方绘画原理，又反映中国本土风情，所以深受当时西方人的喜爱。不过由于通草纸很容易破裂，所以很少有大尺寸的作品，加上难以保存，目前国内传世不多，在国内已几近绝迹。通草画亦是摄影术发明之前中国形象传递到西方最重要的媒介之一，使得西方人建立了初步的东方印象，对之后的中国摄影视觉与美学发展影响颇深。此幅画作演示了茶叶从种植到销售的过程，包括扦插茶苗、采茶叶、揉捻、加工烘焙、筛拣分级造册、收购、装箱、出口验货等程序。
