说明：在古代众多的文房器物当中，香盒所获得的关注，丝毫不逊色于其他的文房用品。此件香盒取名贵紫檀木整挖而成，小巧精致，盒分两层，形制极为少见。呈圆柱体，掏堂圆整工致，盒盖平整，边角圆润，每层均以子母口相合，严丝合缝，边缘起线精细，以示唇口，上下层交接处起灯草线，既具装饰作用，又能扩大接触表面积以提高盒子的耐久性。下承圈足，与胫部部过渡自然，俗称“一线足”，圈足较浅，打洼精致，一丝不苟，弥见工致精细。 整器工艺考究，各部处理简洁却不显简单，颇具匠心，在长期的保养使用中，形成均净的皮壳包浆，黑亮如漆，光泽可人，透过包浆，可见牛毛纹丝丝密密，极为养眼，于素雅之中可见精巧之姿，当为明代紫檀木香盒之隽品。
