YAMASHITA KARYU: A FINE SILVER KOZUKA WITH GAMA SENNIN, WITH NBTHK CERTIFICATE By Yamashita Karyu (also known as Bokusen), signed Karyu with kakihan Japan, Kyoto, 18th century, Edo period (1615-1868) A very fine silver kozuka engraved in katakiri and kebori depicting Gama Sennin treading in water, one foot raised, a toad seated on his head, all set below a pine tree. The reverse with “cat-scratch' yasuri ground and signature KARYU and kakihan.
