A carved red carnelian intaglio of standing Serapis, depicted bearded and wearing modius crown and himation with bare chest, holding a wreath in his outstretched hand; set in a later gold swivel ring; accompanied by an old ceramic(?) collector's impression. 3.58 grams, 22.90mm overall, 17.01mm internal diameter (approximate size British N, USA 6 1/2, Europe 13.72, Japan 13) (3/4"). Property of a London gentleman; previously in the Mr J. N. & Mrs J. E. Didcock collection; thence by decent.
