A cuboid block cut from the historic 15th century church of St George's in Nördlingen, Bavaria, Germany, during restoration; a leaflet confirming this association is attached to the block with red sealing wax. 194 grams, 48 x 46mm (1 3/4 x 1 3/4"). Property of a Leicestershire, UK, collector; ex Reis Crater Museum, with wax seal of the city plus fold out card information label. An asteroid impact in southwest Germany circa 15 million years ago resulted in a 20 kilometre diameter blanket of suevite. In the 15th century, the suevite was used to construct a St. George's church, in Nördlingen, Bavaria. [No Reserve]
