A cased Meiji triple optic polarising microscope, the wood case with lock and key, as supplied by the Open University; with trays of specimens and samples, including replicas and casts, all contained in the original shipping carton. 10.60 kg total, carton 37 x 29 x 46cm (14 1/2 x 11 1/2 x 18"). Property of a Surrey lady; previously in the private collection of Patrick Phillips, Weybridge, Surrey, UK; the collection formed since the early 1970s; thence by descent 2019. The Open University was founded in 1969 to provide undergraduate university education leading to degrees for those unable to attend full-time study courses. [No Reserve]
