A George III oak side table or 'lowboy', third quarter 18th century, the rectangular top with ebonised peripheral moulding, above a frieze drawer and a shaped apron, on tapering cabriole legs, terminating in pad feet, 67cm high, 71cm wide, 49cm deep Condition Report: Marks, knocks, scratches and abrasions commensurate with age and use. Old splits and chips, Slight opening between the boards of the top. Some evidence of old worm causing small losses in places. Some rubbing and losses to the ebonised sections of the top. Small amounts of filler used to the edges of the top in places. Later supporting blocks to the interior of the carcass. Some slight movement within joints. Metalware appears to be period replacements. No key present. Section of timber between top and drawer front is an old replacement. Some later paper stuck to the bottom of the drawer.
