Czech Republic Moldavites, found in a "splash field" around Moldavia in former Czechoslovakia (now Czech Republic), were formed when a meteorite struck the Earth's surface about 15 million years ago, melting and fusing the surrounding rock. The present example is faceted as a circular-cut bright, leaf-green stone with excellent luster, RHC4302, and it was custom-cut for Rock.
