Minas Gerais, Brazil Kunzite was first found in Pala, California in 1902, and is named after the gemologist George F. Kunz. He was Tiffany and Co.'s renowned vice president of gemology from 1879 until his death in 1932. The present, superb gem-quality cushion-cut stone, originates from Brazil, the best-known source for the gem. Acquired in 2005 from Lee Shale, who in turn had purchased it from Martin Ehrmann (1904-1972), renowned New York/Los Angeles gem and mineral dealer and contemporary colleague of George F. Kunz, this spectacular Kunzite gemstone possesses the right degree of saturation of its stunningly vivid purplish-pink hue. Both the luster and clarity are exceptional. This is a world-class stone of worth of consideration of the most serious collector, RHC4381. Weighing approximately 530 carats (106 grams) and measuring 54.5 x 40.4 x 29.1 mm
