A JAPANESE IMARI TEAPOT AND COVER EDO PERIOD, 18TH CENTURY Of hexagonal shape and with a tall bail handle, the surface decorated in gilt, red, cyan and yellow enamels with shaped panels enclosing stylised flowerheads and scrolling wisps, with a paper label from an early aucrion catalogue describing the piece and mentioning 'Boston Museum, Brinkley, 69A', possibly the provenance; together with a Kakiemon-style incense burner and cover, koro, the handles and knop shaped as shishi, the body moulded with chrysanthemum and banded hedges, raised on four shaped feet, 16.5cm max.
