A CHINESE FAMILLE ROSE IRON-RED GROUND SNUFF BOTTLE 19TH CENTURY Of flattened form, painted to one side with two ladies welcoming a gentleman and his horse outside a garden pavilion, the reverse with a scholar and his attendant by a large rock, the scenes divided by gilt floral sprays on a bright iron-red ground, with key fret to the short cylindrical neck, the base with a four character Qianlong mark, 4.7cm. Cf. Christie's New York, 15th September 2011, lot 1200 for a related set of famille rose and underglaze blue snuff bottles similarly painted with figural scenes.
