BRONZE EWER WITH CUPIDS FEEDING SWANS of ovoid form with a high lip and a waisted base of gilt-bronze. two cupids sit atop the ewer. the winged cupid faces forward and rests below the lip of the ewer. he holds the wreath of bounty that is a continuous motif around the ewer. the wreath features foliage, flowers and a single duckling, quail and rabbit. the handle is comprised of a cupid in profile with ivy wrapped around the waist holding the feet of a swan who is gripping the spout. the waisted base of acanthus leaves and ivy mounted on a red stone plinth. overall height: 53.34 cm (21 in.); width of base: 14 (5 1/2 in.)
