This painting was originally published on the Republic of the Marshall Islands History's Greatest Fighting Ships sheetlet issued December 1, 1998. One of the many ships opposing the outnumbered British at Trafalgar in 1805 was Spain's Santisima Trinidad -- the world's largest warship -- which had been launched in Havana in 1769. During the fierce battle, the Santisima Trinidad was demasted and forced to surrender to the British -- along with what remained of its crew of nearly 1,000 men. Image Size: 10.5 x 13 in.
