An Apulian red-figure knob-handled patera Circa 4th Century B.C. The interior depicting a warrior with his horse standing within a naiskos, flanked by shrubs, the nude youth wearing only a chlamys and holding a spear, enclosed by a band of wave pattern, with an outer band of meandering vine, the rim with a further band of wave pattern, with rosette decorated knobs and ridged handles, set on a broad flared foot, the details in added white, ochre and red, 41cm diam.
