A Tibetan bronze figure of the eleven-headed Avalokiteshvara. 18th century The eight-armed deity in standing posture with his primary hands in anjalimudra and the others radiating around him, dressed in a dhoti clasped with a festooned belt and adorned with various jewellery and a long shawl. His finely modeled faces accentuated by cold gold and pigment. Mounted on a modern base. One finger missing. Small restoration to the shawl. Height 23.5 cm (without base) Provenance Collection Leopold Strasser (1919-2010), Munich, acquired in 1988 from Joachim Baader, Munich, and thence by descent Avalokiteshvara Ekadashamukha. Bronze. Tibet. 18. Jh. Der Bodhisattva des allumfassenden Mitleids in seiner elfköpfigen und achtarmigen Erscheinungsform, kostbar gekleidet und reich geschmückt, in aufrechtstehender Körperhaltung. Die Köpfe kalt vergoldet und fein polychrom bemalt. Sockel ergänzt.
