A Tibetan bronze figure of the eleven-headed Avalokiteshvara. 18th century The eight-armed deity in standing posture with his primary hands in anjalimudra and the others radiating around him, dressed in a dhoti clasped with a festooned belt and adorned with various jewellery and a long shawl. His finely modeled faces accentuated by cold gold and pigment. Mounted on a modern base. One finger missing. Small restoration to the shawl. Height 23.5 cm (without base) Provenance Collection Leopold Strasser (1919-2010), Munich, acquired in 1988 from Joachim Baader, Munich, and thence by descent Avalokiteshvara Ekadashamukha. Bronze.
