Carved as a recumbent buffalo, its legs tucked under, with head turned to one side, the large curled horns supported on its humped back, a boy sitting astride its back, grasping a a leafy sprig over the side, the stone of white tone polished to a smooth glow, wood stand. 此擺件以上等和田白玉為材精琢而成，老牛呈臥足狀，回首凝望，童子在老牛後背處，試圖爬到老牛的背上，而老牛神態自然，一幅渴望帶著牧童在田間大自然中暢遊的美好願景。整體形制飽滿，用料上乘，玉質白晰，油潤度佳。雕工精細，工藝考究，將老牛的憨態及童子的天真爛漫表現的淋漓盡致。配紅木底座，保存完好。
